Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.

Power's finally back ( though I got it on Monday ), ONE WEEK. JEEZ. I SERIOUSLY ALMOST LOST IT. I really am thankful for power and electricity though, it's different when you just have your fam and some flashlights, you know?

Anyway, a typhoon is supposed to hit here today, but right now, it's snowing.

Like I literally looked out the window and was like "...Whatthefudgemuffin." BUT ANYWAY. I've had no school since the 29th of October and no school for the rest of this week too. I'm honestly just bored here. Stuck at home (Speaking of which~

), just trapped here since I can't drive anywhere, no homework to work on at all, yelled at by my family just to study even though I really don't need too, and just my overall laziness makes me bored. I'm bored of my attitude and laziness- never thought I'd say that.

Well, in school now, I've got A's and 2 B's. I really don't like biology unless I'm in the lab and my teacher scares me a bit. She's nice, but she scares me. Algebra though, I just get A's on some tests and quizzes, then all of a sudden..

"BOOM, F FOR YOU."

The first "F's" I've ever gotten broke my heart and I nearly wanted to cry, but then I get over it and move along. xD My grades are just everywhere in Algebra. =__=

But GOSH DARNIT. ONE OF THE SHOP CLASSES, GRAPHIC ARTS TO BE EXACT, LOOKS LIKE FUN, BUT I LOVE ALL THE FRIENDS I'VE MADE IN CULINARY. I'D CRY IF I DON'T SEE THEM. Welp, too late to change. I stayed in Culinary~ :3
